Terrain:  3,010 acres/1,218 hectares
Best known for:  A family-friendly area with long, groomed cruising runs, snowbarders’ haven with a Super Dragon halfpipe and acres of terrain-park riding.

Family Fun

  • Don’t miss On-Mountain Family Adventures - Hit the Family Zone at Snowmass for a great way to ski/ride with the family. Complete adventurous and interactive kids’ trails, children’s race arena, picnic area, terrain park and halfpipe. Pick up a kids’ trail map for a guide to all the trails.
  • Ride with the groomers in the big rigs - free snowcat rides are offered at Snowmass. Children must be 7 years of age or older. Space is limited and only one person (in addition to the driver) can ride on the cat at a time. Call 800-525-6200 x4560 for reservations.
  • Enjoy a family snowcat ride for an evening filled with sing-a-longs and a great BBQ dinner at the Burlingame Cabin. Make it a memorable evening in Snowmass. Experience a snowcat ride up the mountain to the Burlingame cabin, an authentic old western cabin, specializing in family-style evening dinner rides. Then enjoy our traditional American BBQ with fireside sing-a-longs and stories.  Dinners are offered every Tuesday night from 5 - 7:45 p.m. Cost is $55 for adults, $30 for children ages 4 to 12 and free for children under 4 years.  Reservations are required.   • Storytelling by the Campfire: Enjoy roasted marshmallows, hot chocolate and tales of the Old West. FREE for all ages. Call 800-SNOWMASS for dates and times.
  • Paintball: This wildly popular sport has invaded Snowmass. Come out and play in our new indoor paintball warehouse!
    - All gear and protective gear supplied
    - Retail outlet for paintball supplies
    - Perfect venue for group functions, private parties and team building

  • Tube Town: The tubing hill at Snowmass is fun for the entire family. Located on Assay Hill on Snowmass. Tube Town operates from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Cost is $15 per guest. Children under 4 are not permitted in the tubing area. Tickets can be purchased at Tube Town Yurt, 970-923-8656.
  • Treasure Hunts:  Group Services at 970-923-0469.  This is a great way for a group to tour the mountain. Rhymed clues will take teams to seven different check points on the mountain where they will find a word or group of words. These words will be put together to form a sentence which leads them to the treasure. Treasure to be determined by the group.  Cost: $200 for groups under 50 people and $300 for groups over 50 people. $200 deposit required.
  • Snowcat Tours:  970-923-0560.  Take a FREE snowcat ride and enjoy the trip with our groomers in the big cats! Offered at Snowmass on Wednesdays at 5 p.m. and Thursdays at 7 a.m. Children must be at least 7 years or older to ride the cats. Only 1 person (in addition to the driver) can ride in the cat at a time.

Nastar Racing NASTAR is the acronym for the National Standard Race and is the largest public recreational grassroots ski racing program in the world. Developed in 1968, NASTAR provides a fun, competitive and easily accessible recreational ski racing program that, through the development of a handicap system, allows skiers of all ages and abilities to compare themselves against their friends, family members and the U.S. Ski Team regardless of when and where they race. The course is located on Cabin trail (to the skier’s left of Coney Glade lift). The course is open Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • ADULTS: $6 for 2 runs; $10 for the entire day.
  • KIDS (12 and under): $4 for 2 runs; $10 for the entire day.
  • 7-DAY NASTAR PASS (for adults or kids): $34 - unlimited NASTAR use for a week on all three NASTAR courses - Snowmass, Aspen Mountain

The Spider Sabich Race Arena, located adjacent to the Coney Glade lift, provides a high-visibility venue for private group races. Access the race arena via the Coney Glade Lift; ski underneath the lift to Cabin Trail. The race arena is located on Cabin run to the skier’s left.  The Race Department will take racers’ best times against the pacesetter’s time and handicap to determine medals according to age groups.

Groups desiring private NASTAR events are strongly encouraged to schedule race registration through Group Services. This service is COMPLIMENTARY. If your group is having an opening reception or party, the Race Department can send a representative to discuss race formats and organize pre-race paperwork. This eliminates congestion on race day.

Slalom, Giant Slalom, Super-G and FIS standard races are available upon request. Courses can be tailored to match your group’s skill and competition levels. Alternative race formats are available upon request only. Pricing will vary accordingly.

Fun Races

Non-competitive team races can be set up for your group by the Snowmass Race Department. These obstacle-course relay races are run on beginner terrain and include non-skiing sections such as inner tubes and tray races. Cost: $150 for groups under 50 people and $250 for groups over 50 people. $150 deposit required.
