Today was one of those magical days where the snow was good, great even, but I’m not sure I should bust out and use the ‘epic’ word.  I like to reserve that word for when it REALLY gets good.  Last night we saw over a foot and in some areas of the trees and other wind loaded spots, it was even deeper.

This particular snow was that cold, zero moisture snow that is champagne powder.  Every skiers fantasy!  You can just point the skis downhill in any direction you want and just let it rip.  You can get in zero trouble with this stuff.  Today I skied for 4 hours straight and managed 35,000 vertical feet.  Needless to say, I’m spent.  The best runs I took were Back of Bell in the trees to Gent’s Ridge trees.  I did that run three times and that’s where today’s photos came from.  Also skied were the Face of Bell to chair 6 to the Dumps.  The Dumps were endless deep and with the perfect pitch of that area, it makes a nice run to Spar.  Other notables up top were Blondies, Hyrup’s, Pump House and Red’s.  As of this writing here at the Highlands(BBB secret HQ), it’s still dumping with an undisclosed amount coming tonight.  Tomorrow will be another great day and as long as the legs hold out!  I should have more photos tomorrow as well.  Stay tuned.

Here I am on top of Glade 2 getting ready to drop into the trees on the right.  As you can see, it’s plenty deep and as I mentioned, still snowing as of 10pm Colorado time.  I’m going to sleep well tonight!
