I know you keep hearing about all the storms that are rolling across the west and yes, we are getting pounded as well! The picture above is in the trees on the Back of Bell and as you can tell, it’s deep.
Granted we’re not getting 5 feet like they are in Tahoe, but do remember, out there 1 foot of snow equals 11 inches of base. Because of our very low moisture snow, 1 foot here equals 3 or so inches of base. What that means to you is, light dry cold smoke powder. Only the best here in Colorado. As mentioned above, the storms keep on cruising through dumping countless amounts of snow on us. I have recently lost track of exactly how much, but I know my legs are cooked from skiing knee to thigh deep powder for the last 10 days in a row. Now I know this is a sad, sad tale but it is still snowing and tomorrow should be another serious powder day. I am currently signed up to go on the snow cat for some backcountry skiing tomorrow. Starting at 8am and ending nearly 8 hours later, you too can enjoy bottomless, untouched run after run. All you have to do is sign up, through down some hard earned smash and ski your brains out.
