Aspen Skiing Company will host the two events on Snowmass this weekend full of big air, big tricks and big talent - Bud Light Big Air Friday and the Powerade Colorado Freeride Series.
This Friday, 2/11, take in the second of seven Big Air Fridays at Fanny Hill and watch some of the area’s best shredders launch off the massive jump located on Fanny Hill in Snowmass.
This big air contest combines skiers and snowboarders in a 40 minute jam-session followed by a final judged jump for the top athletes. A live band performs after every Bud Light Big Air from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. This Friday check out Steve Skinner and the Love Machine and stick around for the fireworks at 7:00 p.m.
All ages are welcome to compete for the prize money. Registration is from 12:30 -1:30 p.m. on the day of the event. The cost per event is $20 and is on a first-come, first-serve basis, limited to 20 skiers and 20 boarders. Helmets are required.
The Powerade Colorado Freeride Series, formerly the Berthoud Bad Ass Freeride Series, consists of three one-day freeriding events plus a one-day championship event which will also be a stop on the International Freeskiing Association (IFSA) North American Tour. The events is held on Snowmass’ famed Hanging Valley Headwall and Burn Side Cliffs, steep faces littered with rocks, cliffs and hanging snowfields. With a cash purse of nearly $8,000, big mountain freeskiing’s top talent is sure to be on hand. Locals participating include Kiffor Berg, Ted Davenport and Jane Somerville.

Registration is $40 for a single event ($45 on the day of), $100 for all series events, $180 for all series events plus the championships, or $125 for only the championships.
