» BUST OUT THE ‘EPIC’ FLAG, BECAUSE IT’S, WELL….EPIC! «
The visibility was challenging at best but because of the intense snowfall and the prodigious amounts, WHO CARES!
It’s been awhile in Aspen since we’ve seen snowfall like this, but in the last few days we’ve seen FEET of snow. It’s been serious powder day after serious powder day. It didn’t matter where you skied yesterday or today, everywhere had huge amounts of snow. There was so much snow in fact that at the bottom of Back of Bell where it flattens out a smidge, I actually had to pole my way out. It was breaking near my waist and I’m 6 feet 4! It is pretty fun when you can point your skis down the Face of Bell and barely get going fast enough to make turns. Now THAT is a lot of snow. Do keep in mind this is that Colorado cold smoke snow I keep referring to. This is no cement. Tomorrow it’s supposed to clear up a bit, so I’m hoping for some better photos. Also on tap tomorrow will be some serious cliff hucking. The last couple of days we’ve been hitting the 10 to 20 footers, tomorrow will be big. I hope for some pics. Stay tuned!
